Tyrion chastens Cersei for alienating the king's subjects; Arya shares a secret with Gendry; one of Dany's scouts returns with news; Theon Greyjoy reunites with his father; Davos enlists a pirate to join forces with Stannis and Melisandre.

Plot Summary

Across the narrow sea, Rakharo's horse returns without a rider to Daenerys' khalasar with its rider. Ser Jorah finds the rider's head in the bag and concludes that another khalasar had killed him. Then Daenerys promises the rider's widow that she give the rider a proper funeral so his soul can return to his ancestors. In the Seven Kingdoms, the guards from King's Landing find Yoren's caravan. They demand Yoren to give up Gendry, but Yoren until them they leave. They then promise to return with more troops. Afterward, Gendry questions why Arya had thought they were after her. She reveals her true identity and has him swear to keep it a secret. At King's Landing, Tyrion exiles Janos for alienating the people by killing Robert's bastards. He then appoints Bronn as the new commander of the City Watch.

Cersei confronts Tyrion for his dismissal of Janos. Tyrion begins questioning Cersei and learns that Joffrey was the one who had given the order; he warns his sister that she will turn her subjects against them if she continues to make bad decisions.On the island of Dragonstone, Davos recruits the pirate Salladhor Saan and his fleet of 30 ships when promises him gold and fame. Melisandre tells Stannis to give himself completely to the Lord of Light. She then seduces him by promising him that she can give him a son.

Theon Greyjoy travels to the Iron Islands with a Robb's message requesting an alliance. When he lands on the islands, he meets a woman named Yara who takes him to Pyke on her horse. At the castle of Pyke, he learns that Yara is his sister. His father expresses his disappointment in his son and questions his loyalty. When Theon brings up the topic of Robb's message and the offer to be king of Iron Islands, his father rejects the offer and tells him that he will take back the island through force as the IronBorn tradition dictates. At Craster's Keep, Samwell saves one of Craster's wives from Ghost. Then the wife asks him to take her with them when they leave because she is afraid of what Craster would do if she gives birth to a boy. Sam takes her to Jon, but he refuses to help because of the Lord Commander's orders. Then one night, Jon sees Craster leaving a baby boy to the White Walkers. When he goes in to help, Craster strikes him from behind.
