Having put on the Rheingold ring, Xena has lost her memory and Gabrielle slumbers under the protection of Brunhilde's flame. Beowulf seeks a way to free Gabrielle and restore Xena's memory but Xena has married King Hrothgar and doesn't recognise Beowulf.
