Overview[]
Roughly three years after he has donned the cape and cowl of the Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne is still a young and untested rookie vigilante seeking to establish himself and his reputation throughout the criminal underworld. Hunted by the Gotham Police as a dangerous vigilante, the Batman suddenly finds himself facing a whole new breed of criminals, super villains and his world will never be the same!
The Batman was a long-running American-produced action-adventure superhero animated cartoon TV series with Rino Romano, Alastair Duncan, and Evan Sabara contributing as the primary voice actors.
The series is an adaptation of DC Comics' flagship character of Batman aka the Dark Knight Detective and one of their most popular and enduring media franchises.
The Batman is the first DC animated series since 1992 that is completely unconnected with the previously established continuity of Bruce Timm and Paul Dini's animated series which comprise the DCAU Franchise. Aside from a totally redesigned and anime-inspired artwork and character design, the TV series was a rebooted incarnation which focuses on a young Bruce Wayne and his efforts to prosecute a war against the criminal element in Gotham City as the Caped Crusader.
The Batman was popular enough to inspire a direct-to-DVD spin-off movie, The Batman vs. Dracula.
