Plot[]

Out on the docks, Executioner tortures one of Black Mask's man for information on the weapons. Suddenly, Batwoman attacks Heretic's group with a smoke grenade first. Executioner realizes it's not Batman since Batman doesn't use guns. Then, Batman jumps to assist Batwoman who doesn't appreciate his help. Batman replies that dressing as a bat will only make her a target while scolding her for using guns.

In the air, Killer Moth's robots carry Batwoman deep into the factory until Batwoman breaks the robot. When Fire Fly tries to toss a grenade at Batwoman, Batman saves her. He interrogates Fire Fly for who he is working for. Then, Heretic arrives and tells Batman that he has been waiting for this reunion. Batwoman charges at Heretic only to be knock down and thrown over. Batman tries to save her. However, Heretic has Onyx stab Batman before detonating the factory. Batman quickly throws Batwoman into the sea before getting caught in the blast.

Weeks later after Batman's disappearance, Damian, who was in the Himalayas, catches Gordon's press conference about Batman. He decides to leave the monastery and head back home. In Bludhaven, Nightwing engages BlockBuster in combat while telling his girlfriend, Kori, that he will visit her in the tower as soon as he's done. However, Alfred's emergency call forces Nighwing to cancel his date. The next day, Ms. Bannister tries to ask Mr. Wayne about his absence. Nightwing reminds Alfred to watch his accent since others could figure out through his impersonation of Bruce Wayne. Back at Wayne Headquarters, Lucius meets up with his son, Luke. Lucius tells his son he could work for Wayne and that they have time for lunch. Luke replies he can't since he has to follow his own path. Lucius agrees but he never thought Luke would enlist in the army and fight in Afghanistan.

Later that night and at the diner, Kane meets her father, Jacob, and asks him to identify the masked man, Heretic. Jacob remarks how Kane's artwork is excellent while Kane replies Elizabeth was the one with talent. She recalls her father trying to save her, her mother, and her sister from armed thugs. Suddenly, the Batmobile zooms past the diner. Kane leaves her father at the diner to chase after Batman. At the docks, Batman (as Nightwing) raids Black Mask's weapon heist. Damian joins in to assist Nightwing. Despite their efforts, the place blows up, causing Nightwing to be upset. Damian easily figures out Dick's impersonation and tells him that he is more suited for Batman's role. Dick drives the Batmobile into the alley in order to asks Batwoman why she's following them. Batwoman explains she is the last one who saw Batman and leads them to the location. When Batwoman promises to find them answers, Dick asks Batwoman to work together, yet Batwoman declines. During the trip home, Damian's comments irritates Dick who states that he had distance himself from Batman and that he doesn't want to wear the suit.

Then, Alfred calls them and reveals Batman's logs on Batwoman's identity and how she emerged as Batwoman after the loss of her sister and mother. Dick sympathizes with Katie as it always begins with death. At the park, Batwoman meets up with her father on the bridge. Her father gives her intel on Heretic and his accomplice, Onyx. He briefs her on Heretic's feud with Black Mask and fixation with Batman. Over at Lucius's office, Luke meets his father and catches a glimpse of his father's work on a new suite. Luke reveals that he knew his father is supplying Batman with his tech. Suddenly, Heretic's men barges into Lucius's office. Lucius quickly presses the alarm, calling Dick for help. Heretic threatens to kill Luke for information on the vault. Luke breaks free only to be subdued by Heretic. In the vault, Kuttler takes a specific briefcase. Once they have the goods, Heretic stabs Lucius. Nightwing and Damian arrives in and shut the lights. Heretic and Onyx engages Nightwing while Tusk fights Damian. When Damian is down, Executioner electrocutes Damian. Heretic tries to order Executioner to stop but had to kill him. He and his group leave. Luke calls Dick for help as his father is in critical condition.

In a nightmare, Bruce finds himself trapped underwater by the people he hold dear. In the hideout, Mad Hatter weaves through Bruce's memories and remarks how deep Bruce's trauma is. Talia orders Mad Hatter to go deeper to break Bruce. Heretic asks Talia that they should get Damian only to get his offer rejected. At the hospital, Luke asks Dick to let him help in order to protect his father. Dick leaves Luke to run an errand while Luke feels being cut off. Over at the bar, Kate chats with Renee in a date before being interrupted by Dick. Over at the Wayne Manor, Alfred tends to Damian's injuries and tells him to stay put. Elsewhere, Kate shares how she was lost after being kicked out of the military and how Batman created her after being saved by him. In the Batcave, Heretic fires a sleeping dart at Damian and easily subdues him.

In the vault, Luke suits up in his father's latest batsuit. Dick gets a call from Alfred about Damian's disappearance. Beneath a nun's school, Damian finds himself strapped to a machine. Heretic reveals his face and that he is Damian, a product of Ra's al Ghul's perfect soldier program. He explains that he has a void that will be filled by Damian's memories. Talia barges in and slaps Heretic for disobeying her. Heretic immediately signals Onyx, who is about to attack Talia, to stand down. Heretics yells out his pain and lowers his voice, asking Talia to let him love her by having Damian's memories. As Heretic hugs Talia, Talia pities Heretic before killing him. She orders Mad Hatter to erase Damian's memories and add a few adjustments while ordering Onyx to dispose of Heretic's body.

As Nightwing and Batwoman crash the nunnery, Batwing joins them, revealing his new suit. Talia orders their group to retreat. Killer Moth and Fire Fly engage Batwing in aerial combat, and at the same time, Damian tries to snap his father out of it. After Batwing blows the doors, Nightwing enters to help Damian carry Bruce. As soon as Nightwing enters the compound, Batwoman has her hands full with Onyx. Due to Batwing's fight earlier, the support pillars beneath the nunnery collapses. Damian, Nightwing, and Bruce falls into the sea, but Batwing rescues them. Bruce declines Batwing's help and states that it's their family business.

A week later, Bruce tells Alfred, Damian, and Dick that he will pick up leads on Talia after the summit and that only family are allowed. Dick calls Kate, thanking her for her help, and informs about Bruce's decision. Mad Hatter, Tetch, and Tusk infiltrates the summit and initiates the mind control system. Back at Kate's home, she finds her father attacking her until she knocks him out. Moments later, Dick and Damian discuss with her about the incident before Batwing arrives with intel from the hard drive that indicates Talia's plans involving brain washing leaders at the summit. Talia calls in with Tetch after Bruce knocks out Alfred. In the skies, Batwing and his group infiltrate the summit without being detected the aircraft, but Firefly notices them and calls in his group.

During the fight, Nightwing takes on Batman while Damien engages Tusk and Batwoman and Talia duke it out. In the skies, Batwing finishes off Firefly who crashes into the thrusters causing the ship to be on a crash course towards the Wayne Headquarters. Damian throws Tusk overboard but tries to pull him to safely only to find the rope cut by the fans. Meanwhile, Talia finishes her fight with Batwoman, assuming Kate had fallen. Then, Alfred heads into the security room and knocks Tetch into the computers which sends an electrical shock to Mad Hatter, killing him and stopping the brain washing program. With Damian turning on the remainder thrusters, Batwing manages to push the ship from the headquarters.

Talia joins Batman and hands him a gun, ordering him to kill NightWing. Damian enters the area while Nightwing tries to talk Bruce out of it. Bruce shoots the sword from Talia's hands. Batwoman arrives, punching Talia for brainwashing her father. With the others cornering Talia, Talia shares her last words with Bruce before crashing out of the window and on to her aircraft. However, Onyx attacks Talia, causing the aircraft to crash and explode on the seas.

Days later, Kate informs her father about how the programming can't be reset and then gets a visit from Renee. Cruising in the sky, Batwing waves to his father. Later that night, Alfred informs Dick that Bruce is having talk with Damian over the death of Talia. During a call, Batman and his new family arrive to stop the Penguin in the city. Nearby, Batgirl watches the group and joins them in pursuit.
