A short lived 1990 action adventure superhero television series based on the DC Comics character of Barry Allen who is the second and most recognized character known as the Flash and was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino in 1956. Ironically enough, at the time of this TV series was created, the character had run off the mortal coil of the DC Comics; having died helping save the universe in 1985. Although named and being heavily based on Barry Allen, a number of elements used in this series was drawn upon the then-active Flash, Wally West who had also been Barry Allen's sidekick and forced to take up the mantle of his predecessor following his death.
However the extremely prohibited special effects costs and low ratings ultimately drove this TV series to be rapidly cancelled.
