Trivia

  • The orginal title for the book that this movie is based on is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Scholastic Corporation bought the U.S. rights in 1997. They decided that children would not be interested in a book with the word Philosopher in the title and so renamed it to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. J.K. Rowling regrets the change was made but was not in a strong enough position at the time to fight it.
