Wilton Knight was a millionaire with a dream. A dream of justice. That one man could make a difference. That the criminals who dared to operated beyond or outside the scope of the law would answer for their crimes.
Before his death, he created a high-tech car laced with a near indestructible alloy and outfitted with an array of crime detection gear, offensive weapons, and operated by an artificial intelligence known at K.I.T.T. And Wilton recruited one last thing. A special agent to use them.
His name is Michael Knight and he is the Knight Rider. A man with no past and no ties. His fingerprints erased, his computer records deleted, a man who does not exist and with a surgically reconstructed face.
In this shadowy world, Michael Knight wages a lonely crusade; to champion the innocent, the helpless, and the powerless victims and would bring to justice criminals who thought that they were above the law ... they've never faced anything like him. Or especially anything like his car.
One of the most successful and popular TV series of its day, Knight Rider launched an enduring media franchise, it's place in pop culture, and the career of its titular star, David Hasselhoff but many viewed the true success was the sleek black TransAm housing the artificial intelligence known as K.I.T.T. There have been numerous attempts to revive the series in various film and TV incarnations but none have proven as popular or as enduring as the original.
