Wesley Wyndam-Price first appeared on February 9, 1999 on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Bad Girls". He was portrayed by Alexis Denisof who would go on to reprise his role throughout the third season before he became part of the regular cast of the Angel spin-off television series.

Originally created to be a comedic foil as the incompetent and cowardly replacement Watcher for Rupert Giles; Wesley Wyndam-Price underwent a character evolution on the Angel TV series which turned him into a darker but much more competent and effective member of the cast.
